Technical Workshop on Gas Market, Gas Balancing, Interoperability and Meeting the Conditions to join Regional Natural Gas Market
USAID Energy Policy Activity (EPA) held a two-day Technical Workshop in the natural gas market. On December 5 -6, 2023. Representatives of three relevant energy sector ministries (state and both entities) participated in this workshop, including the representatives of three regulatory commissions (state and both entities) and the natural gas transportation, distribution/supply companies. EPA presented its recent reports. Guidelines on Meeting the Preconditions to Join the Regional Natural Gas Market and Obtaining Access to Natural Gas Storage Facilities, “Report on Gas Market Organization, Market Operation and Balancing,” “Report on Interoperability and Security of Supply Regulation,” and explained the importance of some of the key requirements, EU Network Code on Balancing, the EU Network Code on Interoperability and Data Exchange and the EU Regulation on Security of Supply.
The main aim of this Workshop was to raise awareness of the current situation of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) natural gas sector to its key stakeholders and companies and to emphasize the importance of further development of the natural gas sector in BiH as per the EU requirements.
Attendants actively participated in this technical workshop and discussed the presented topics mutually and with the USAID EPA team.
