The Federation has made important progress by adopting a set of energy laws that give consumers the opportunity to choose, reduce costs for companies, and help the entity transition to modern, clean energy. The Energy and Regulation of Energy Activities Law, as well as the Electricity Law, will soon come into force, which will enable citizens to join energy communities and save money. The United States of America – through its Energy Policy Activity Project (USAID EPA) – directly supported these laws along with the Ministry, Elektroprivredas, and the Regulatory Commission. We hope that the FBiH Parliament will react quickly and finalize the Renewable Energy Sources and Efficient Cogeneration Law, which would, thanks to simplified procedures for the construction of smaller power plants that use renewable energy sources, enable citizens to become electricity producers (“prosumers”).
