The 2nd meeting of the Working Group (WG) for day-ahead and intra-day markets held on Jahorina
The 2nd meeting of the USAID EPA Working Group (WG) for day-ahead and intra-day markets was held on July 13th. The WG consists of representatives of all the relevant institutions in the electricity sector, as well as representatives of the Energy Community Secretariat. At the meeting, EPA and the WG members addressed comments on the draft “Gap Analysis on BiH Legal Framework for Establishment of Organized Day-ahead and Intra-day Markets” and analyzed the draft of “Methodology for Impact Assessment of Participation of Power Utilities at BiH Power Exchange”. Both documents were prepared by USAID EPA.
The objective of the Gap Analysis is to identify gaps in the existing secondary legislation with regard to the organization of the day-ahead and intra-day markets and to identify all important aspects that need to be regulated in order to establish and integrate these markets into the wider regional markets, while the Methodology aims to ensure common approach for the three power utilities to estimate the traded volume of electricity at the day-ahead and intra-day markets, once they become operational.
USAID EPA plans to organize a workshop dedicated to the establishment of day-ahead and intra-day markets during September 2022, where USAID EPA plans to present “Conceptual Design of Day-ahead and Intra-day Markets” as a continuation of the Working group activities.
