Establishment and the Role of Aggregators in the Electricity Market
The USAID Energy Policy Activity organized a two-day workshop entitled “Establishment and the Role of Aggregators in the Electricity Market” in Neum on October 19 and 20, 2022. The workshop was attended by 60 representatives of competent ministries, regulatory commissions, and power companies and was opened by Mr. Karl Wurster, director of the economic department of USAID BiH.
During the workshop, European and regional experiences in implementing aggregators and defining the regulatory framework were presented, as well as guidelines for model selection and implementation of aggregators in BiH’s legal and regulatory framework.
Representatives of the Energy Regional Regulators Association (ERRA), GEN I from Slovenia, the Croatian Energy Regulatory Agency (HERA), the Croatian Transmission System Operator (HOPS), the first Croatian virtual power plant – KOER, EFT Group, and the Independent System Operator of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ISO BiH) have shared their experiences with the participants.
Representatives of the USAID EPA project presented the document “Aggregators – Guidelines for Implementation”, which contains recommendations for the legal and regulatory framework and for implementing the selected aggregator model in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
